An officer from the Jasper Police Department gave me this JPD patch as a keepsake back in 2023 when I was leaving the Dubois County Prosecutor’s Office. His kindness during that chapter of my life meant more to me than he knew.

As a prosecutor, it’s my privilege to work closely with law enforcement and I value the relationships I have with officers, deputies, and troopers.

It’s also my privilege to live in this community, the vast majority of which still respect and honor law enforcement.

As we begin the week of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, and we remember and celebrate the heroics of those who gave their lives on that day, let’s also stop to thank some of our own local heroes. When you see a law enforcement officer, a firefighter, or a first responder here in Dubois County, I hope you’ll stop, shake their hand, and give them a kind word to let them know how much you appreciate their selfless service.
